The global golf tourism market is not one to be undermined, having grown 31.56% in the year 2021 from 2020. Golf is a leisure activity that can be the main item in a travel itinerary due to its fun game element and how it’s being played in stunning outdoor nature. Some countries would build golf infrastructures surrounded by nature to attract avid golfers.
There are over 100 golf clubs in Malaysia. One of the most exciting golf tournaments held in the country is the Maybank Championship that is recognised by the Asian Tour and European Tour. It is the only golfing event that has a category designated to the ASEAN region thus allowing participants to play at a world class level.
A golf resort is one like any other holiday resorts with complete facilities such as pools, gymnasiums, spas, restaurants with access to golf courses, equipment shops and clubhouses. As golf resorts are typically built on vast lands far from the hustle and bustle of urbanity, they offer a serene environment that’s ideal for a getaway.
